As much as I am distressed over US domestic policy, I am pleased that the US has maintained most of the Trump-era China policies, in defense and trade, and that the US is increasing its engagement with Taiwan.
In a democracy, we will not always get the lawmakers that we want, but we can hope that those who hold office will enact policies we support. So far, for me at least, that has been the case with the administration’s China policy. This includes US Trade Representative Tai, Secretary of State Blinken, and US Defense Secretary Austin.
I wish we could go further, and actually recognize Taiwan, but I will take the small victories as they come and be grateful. #china #taiwan #trade #military #Defense
