The argument in favor of globalism: Although some people in a country will lose their job, everyone is better off because they will have access to cheaper goods. And the winners of globalism should compensate the losers.
My response: So, what you are saying is, everyone who manages to keep their job, should have their taxes increased so we can pay unemployment benefits to our countrymen who lost their jobs, so that we can have cheaper products and cheaper labor from overseas? Aside from the fact that I don’t want to pay higher wages, do you believe that my countrymen would rather have the dignity of a job or would they rather have the indignity of staying home, earning a fraction of their income and not working?
